Jake Johnson's dream is to study Geology at Texas A&M University, and at the young age of 10, he had an idea that would help make that dream become a reality.
It all started as an experiment in the kitchen. "I wanted to make a citrusy salsa without cilantro or big chunks of onion, so I worked with my stepdad on the ingredients until we got it just right." Soon after he started bringing the salsa to school, sharing it with his friends. Just like any junior high school, word about Jake's Atomic Salsa spread quickly. Orders began flying out of the kitchen...and that's when things took off.
A few years ago when Jake first began to sell his salsa at Aggieland Outfitters, he had a few hundred customers and thousands of Facebook followers. Now sold exclusively at Aggieland Outfitters, Jake's Atomic Salsas are well-known and beloved treats to many Aggies. Jake reminds us as adults that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
You've made us proud, Jake!
