Operation Blackout is back for the third straight year, and this time it's Tennessee coming to Kyle Field on November 14. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. or later, and if you're going to be there, you already know what to wear.
All black. Every Aggie. Kyle Field goes dark.
What Is Operation Blackout?
For anyone newer to the Aggie world, here's the deal.
Operation Blackout is Texas A&M's designated blackout game, where the entire fanbase is asked to wear black to create a unified, all-black stadium experience. The team suits up in all-black alternate uniforms with script Aggies helmets. It's a coordinated statement, and when Kyle Field pulls it off, it's one of the more intimidating atmospheres in college football.
Under head coach Mike Elko, the Aggies have hosted two Operation Blackout games. They've won both. It's not a small sample size thing either. A 38-23 win over No. 8 LSU in 2024. A 31-9 blowout over Mississippi State in 2025. The blackout works, and everyone in College Station knows it.
Tennessee is next.
The Streak Is Real
2-0 in blackout games under Elko. Both wins were convincing. Both came against SEC opponents with something to prove.
There's a reason this game has built the reputation it has. Kyle Field in all black with 100,000 fans locked in is a different environment. The Aggies have fed off it both times, and November 14 is the third chance to keep it going.

What to Wear to Operation Blackout
Simple. Black. Head to toe if you can manage it.
This isn't one of those games where the color scheme is complicated. Black shirt, black hat, black everything. The more committed the fanbase, the better the effect. If you're in the stands and someone next to you is wearing maroon, that's a missed opportunity.
